Doctor’s Comment:
Under the microscope, a good healthy skin is where the cells of Epidermis and Stratum Corneum align uniformly layer by layer without breaks. AHA (2nd generation fruit acids) and PHA can help align these cells in a more perfect formation, while AHA can removes pore plugs such as blackheads. At 8% it is effective for controlling oil, removing milia formation and improving skin tones. Most people tolerate PHAs, while some people cannot tolerate AHAs. |

Advanced Comments:
AHA is the stronger but more effective fruit acid in terms of oil and acne control, pore size and skin tone improvement. It can be more irritative especially on first use with a slight stinging sensation. This product at 8% is neither strong or weak, and as it is a solution form, its duration of action on the skin may not be as long as its gel counterpart. It is ideal for people first upgrading from a milder fruit acids such as PHA for better benefits. Can consider patch testing on an area of face first. Recommend use of sun screen daily when using fruit acid products. |
