Doctor’s Comment:
Sunlight contains UVA and UVB, where UVA is the energy which causes freckles and aging on the skin. SPF only tells how strong a sunscreen is against UVB, it does not tell you how strong it is against the skin aging UVA.
This product contains Mexoryl XL & SX, the only chemical sunblock with full spectrum UVA protection. Combined with brightening agents, it can prevent freckles and hyperpigmentation formation.
With Mexoryl, short duration sunscreens only last 1/2 an hour under very strong sunlight, and last not greater than 4 hours by itself. |

Advanced Comments:
Zinc Oxide and Mexoryl can protect the whole spectrum of wavelengths given by UVA, while Titanium Oxide/Dioxide does not have total wavelengths protection. Mexoryl is a chemical sunscreen where the sunlight oxidize it instead of the skin, so it can be used up. Zinc Oxide is a barrier sunscreen where it blocks UVA.
This is not a waterproof formula, so it doesn't last as long as waterproof or long duration formulas, and is less ‘sticky’.
This product has Brightening Agents, and if you are lazy to use a separate brightening product, then this is the product for you. However two of its ingredients, Triethanol Amine and PEG-100 Sterate may cause irritation in some people.
For a normal (short-duration) sunscreen such as this one, it should be replenished every 1/2 an hour under strong sunlight, or every 4 hours if under usual daytime. This formulation also contains moisturization properties, and is a plus in most cases. |
